Jake pins Sixer to the wall

Jake pins Sixer to the wall

Monsieur Salut writes: After a drab first half, Pete Sixsmith saw “nothing much between these two average sides”. Inevitably, Palace came out after half time and showed one difference, a quick goal. Less inevitably, but maybe not so surprising to the longest suffering of football fans anywhere, three more came to complete a 13-minute collapse to rival the earlier surrenders to Southampton and Villa. We did start playing somewhere near the 90th minute, but Palace might have been six up by then. There were men out there today, led by John O’Shea but including some who might otherwise have expected to play on at the top level for several years, who ought to be down the Job Centre on Monday to explore other career possibilities. Come back for Sixer’s fuller report – once again he offers a selection of seven-word verdicts below – but don’t necessarily expect anyone at Salut! Sunderland to show more than O’Shea-like pace to get it posted …’

I think it has been embarrassing for quite some time.

And there was me saying 3-1 to Palace, if I wasnt such an optimist Jeremy would have his mug lol

In John Laurie’s words “dooomed, dooomed”.

I had this as a nailed on loss, bearing in mind what we usually do after beating the mags…only I never envisaged the quick 10 minute capitulation we would suffer yet again. There is something very rotten at the core of this team, end of season cannot come fast enough.

Arsenal tickets were on order from brother/WILL NOW BE CANCELLED.

Not sure I deserve a thumbs down! I just honestly can’t face it any more. We lumber from one disaster to another. Leicester City, who have been bottom all season, have been far superior to ourselves, and we could not complain if we were by now cut adrift and in a hopeless position. Is it worth staying up if lessons are not learned and we are in the same place next season? It hurts man.

Eric is spot-on. How else can we respond, as ordinary fans? As it happens, I am not one for walking out, as 30+ thousand did today, and Sixer (me in tow) did at Wimbledon, but when millionaires do this to you – not once, not twice but over and again in a single season – you cannot fault the fan who leaves early, even very early, or thinks again about laying out a fortune on seeing us thrashed at the Emirates

  7. Johnm April 11, 2015 at 10:04 pm #

Embarrassing is the word to sum it up. Like many contributors I have 50 years of mixed, but largely disappointing seasons of following my team, but this year has more lows than most.
Last season we were a poor side, lucky to survive, but we are now weaker. Ki, Borini, Colback, etc have not been replaced with better players. As for our youth system, it seems there is no one near even a sub appearance.
Will we survive ? I doubt it. I’ve got tickets for Leicester, a long trip with overnight stay. I suspect it might be all over by then , and I might be in a half empty SoL.
Bring on next season, whichever division we are in

  8. Jeremy April 12, 2015 at 12:23 am #

    Embarrassing? Nooooh!

It was embarrassing against Villa. This was excruciating and humiliating.

  9. Drummer April 12, 2015 at 2:02 am #

An absolute disgrace . Are they really this incompetent or is it just that they genuinely couldn’t give a ####?! . What’s the matter , has Advocaat said something to upset the little darlings during the week and they’re playing to get him sacked now ? Just clear off the lot off them , pathetic , spineless , useless money grabbing jokes that don’t deserve 1% of the disgusting kings ransom they’re paid every week . If I was a neutral I’d want us to get relegated as we deserve it and I’m almost at the point where I couldn’t care less whatever happens . The team don’t , why should we ?

I shall be tuning in to Radio “We beat them 5 in a row” at 11am to listen to my other true love. Durham CCC are in action at Taunton. Proper players on a fraction of Fletcher’s wages. COYD.
