Jermain Defoe's superstrike vs the Mags

Jermain Defoe’s superstrike vs the Mags

What you see is what you get – if you win the Sunderland-Hull City Guess the Score, that terrific print of Jermain Defoe’s five-in-a-row winner against Newcastle United is the prize from new friends of ours at Art of Football. Check out their Sunderland section by clicking anywhere on this paragraph …

Guess the Score has never been earlier. But then, there have not been many games as season-defining as Sunderland versus Hull City on Saturday.

Yes, I know we have said that kind of thing before, quite a lot over recent seasons, but this really is a vital test of whether our 2-1 win at Bournemouth was just a momentary, skin-of-the-teeth distraction from a Villa-style descent to the Championship – or the catalyst for instant revival.

And we are delighted to offer a new prize for anyone who is first to forecast the correct scoreline. Usual rules apply – we’d prefer a winner outside the UK to have a UK delivery address – and a Hull fan who wins would qualify for a print more in keeping with his/her allegiance.

Delighted to be able to offer something other than the mug, wonderful as the mug is, for a change …

Salut! Sunderland is written, illustrated and edited by - and principally for - supporters of Sunderland AFC. The site aims to be sufficiently literate and entertaining to appeal to people who do not follow SAFC but enjoy good football writing.

0-1 as a Hull City fan I have to predict a win for us, but that is good news for Sunderland fans as I haven’t got our score right all season so you’ll win.
It should be a great gritty game between two sides that both need the points.
Salut Sunderland is a great website, I always look forward to see what you have to say on our games.

  9. Phil D November 14, 2016 at 10:09 pm #

3-0 to the lads. We need it.

    • Phil D November 19, 2016 at 5:04 pm #

      We have a winner!

I only picked 3-0 because my other choices had been taken.

Three goals and a clean sheet too.

Hmmph! I would have won with my 3-3 draw if it wasn’t for the splendid Pickford – oh well.

        • Phil D November 20, 2016 at 9:06 pm #

I happen to be delighted with the clean sheet, Wrinkly Pete.

Really want us to win but need the prize so it’s a 3-3 draw.

I also think 2 nil to the Lads. I just want to know if any salut contributors “do the clack!”

    • malcolm November 19, 2016 at 8:51 pm #

Not me David and judging by the mess at the end I can’t see it becoming a regular thing.

  13. Gorman Stewart November 16, 2016 at 11:33 pm #

Im taking 2-0 to Us , clean sheet , 3 points , with Defoe and PVA to score if he plays 😉
