Jake: ‘it’s not always pretty’

John McCormick writes: We’ve now conceded 25 goals already this season, although it appears that the last of them came from a deflection that left our keeper no chance.

Still, I suppose a point away’s not too bad, especially as Brentford had 9 shots on target, but not being able to hold on to a two goal lead’s a concern.  And that forms the basis of Bob Chapman’s (off the bench as Sixer’s sub today) seven-word summary:

October 21 Brentford 3 (1) Sunderland 3 (3) * Two in front yet lucky to survive

October 14 Sunderland (0) 1 Queens Park Rangers (1) 1 The elusive home win seems miles away

September 30 Preston North End (0) 2Sunderland (1) 2 * Seriously entertaining and well worth the point

September 26 Ipswich Town 5 (2) Sunderland (1) 2 Sunderland’s defending plummets to unheard of depths

September 23 Sunderland 1 (0) Cardiff City 2 (1) Undoubtedly the worst Sunderland team I’ve watched

September 20 League Cup 3rd Round: Everton (1) 3 Sunderland (0) 0 * Never looked like scoring, let alone winning

September 16 Hull City 1 (0) Sunderland 1 (1) Hung on but not a sparkling performance

September 12 Sunderland 0 (0) Nottingham Forest 1 (o) Some improvement but we lack any punch

September 9 Sunderland 1 (0) Sheffield United 2 (1) no tactics, appalling team selection,
total embarrassment

August 26 Barnsley 3 (2) Sunderland 0 (0) Alarm bells clanging after a dreadful performance

August 22 League Cup: Carlisle United (0) 1 Sunderland (1) 2 Classy finish by Gooch masks scrappy performance

August 19 SAFC 0 (0) Leeds United 2 (1) Weaknesses exposed by a solid Leeds team

August 16 Sheffield Wednesday (0) 1 Sunderland (1) 1 Looked tired in second half. Decent point

August 13 Norwich City 1 (0) Sunderland 3 (1) Very well organised and three cracking goals

August 8 League Cup: Bury 0 (0) Sunderland (0) 1 Hardly convincing but a win’s a win

August 4 2017 Sunderland (1) 1 Derby County (1) 1 Encouraging second half. Something to build on

Right fellas. Ive been a good boy and given Mr Grayson the benefit of the doubt.
I called for his head after not reaching the minimum 10 points from 10 games cut off.
I listened to all the arguments excusing his abysmal abject nonsensical tactics, his team selections and lately his smug fan questioning demeanour.
I gave him the grace of 15 games to achieve 15 points. We now have 2 games left for him to do this, both at home, in which he needs maximum points.
    Impossible? No. Likely? Again No.
Simon Grayson perfectly dovetails between a hapless dejected group of players, and a cluless frigid board treading water.
A perfect example of game management under Grayson can be summed up by todays game at Brentford.
Finally listening to advice from others, including a lot of fans forums, he selects Grabban and continues to give Watmore a marauding role.
All is well. 3 one up at half time.
Then the real Simon Grayson, with all his failings, emerged for the second half.
At 3 one down Brentford went to 443 from 352 at half time. Did Grayson counter this? No.They outnumbered us in attack. Result…Goal conceded.
At 3 2 down Grayson decides to take off our best player Watmore, and ‘shut up shop’ 90s style, with the leagues worst defence.
Taking Watmore off simply denied us an outlet, took pressure off Brentford and invited them onto us.
    Result…goal conceded.
This is Simon Graysons mindset and tactical nous in a nutshell, and is proof that he needs to go, and now.
Anyone with a counter argument to keep Mr Grayson, please feel free to respond.
Ps. ” we cant keep sacking managers / we cant afford to sack him” are not valid arguments.

Every week brings new depths of embarrassment.

Unable to get a ticket for a ground 40 mins away. So its B & B for me EXCEPT – the useless pile of shit that is SAFSEE refused to let me login despite my subscription being up to date (I’ll not be renewing it). Can’t complain though – the support email address is incorrect. FFS – can SAFC do anything right?

I have recently joined facebook and responded to Paul. I suggest others do too as one guy on the salut fb site used the term “Relegrayson.”

Oi oi.. Relegrayson- “Brentford are a good team, with some very talented players”… Fact- Won 2 games all season…
“This is a very hard place to come as they dictate possession” Fact- Won once at home against a run of the mill Millwall side…
“Conditions were difficult against a good team”… Fact- we train every week in far worse elements at the AOL & Brentford are simply statistically not a good team…
“We have back to Back home games where we will look to get maximum points”…. Fact- Sunderland haven’t won at home in over 10 months & only 18 times in 82 games & I believe you may need to be a club historian to know the last time we won 2 games back to back at home…??
Clearly Relegrayson is either a fantasist or delusional, possibly even both but one thing is for certain, the vast majority of SAFC supporters aren’t fools & these nonsensical statements simply won’t wash… a bit like his hair

Must be someone happy with the current situation, got to be a mag.

I would surmise that Mr Relegrayson (the gallows wit of Sunderland fans) has two games left to save himself, nothing short of 6 points will be sufficient.

Unfortunately for him the omens are not good as both are at home.
