Vote for Aiden McGeady: see below

Given his recent run of form – and goals – it is hardly surprising that Aiden McGeady should be in the running for the League One fans’ choice as player of the month.

Our friends at Snack Media, in their second season as official media partners of the Profesional Fooballers’ Association, tells us this is indeed the case. And we, the supporters, can have our say by voting.

It’s so simple that Monsieur Salut, notoriously IT-illiterate, got there in the end – though not without somehow wiping out most of the right-hand sidebar by trying to add some code at Snack Media’s request.

Salut! Sunderland is written, illustrated and edited by - and principally for - supporters of Sunderland AFC. The site aims to be sufficiently literate and entertaining to appeal to people who do not follow SAFC but enjoy good football writing.

Me – just get multiple ads and even when eventually finding the Vote link after scrolling way down the advert all I get is a list of previous winners and no obvious way of voting.

And interestingly I have the same problem when trying to vote via

Of course my cynical self thinks these polls are just to create a revenue stream by getting links to the advertisers as on the whole the players from the biggest clubs will always win because they will attract the highest number of votes, deserving of the award or not.

I have been able to do it on my tablet but not my laptop. I assume I could vote on my phone too. Technology eh!
